An All-Around Approach

THE VISION

An All-Around Approach

The Spherical Method is a methodology of observation, analysis and design born from over twenty years of interdisciplinary research on the sphere.
Applied to design and art direction, it allows one to govern complexity by exploring every project from multiple perspectives, uncovering its deepest essence and translating it into authentic, harmonious and effective communication.
The sphere is not a mere aesthetic symbol, but a cognitive model that guides the entire visual and strategic process.

THE ORIGIN

The Geometric Principle

In geometry, the sphere is the purest expression of balance: a system of relationships in which every point lies at the same distance from the centre. The Spherical Method draws its strength precisely from this organizing principle; indeed, it takes its name not from the shape of the sphere, but from the way it organizes relationships, and thus from the principles that govern its structure.
Just as a sphere preserves its identity from whatever angle it is observed, every brand, digital ecosystem or cultural project possesses a deep core that can be analyzed from different perspectives to reveal its most authentic nature. It is an approach that expands the ordinary field of vision, creating a continuous synergy between strategy, identity, culture, functionality and aesthetics.

THE PROCESS

The Dynamics
of the Method

The Spherical Method unfolds as a dynamic, organic model in which Observing, Relating, Recognizing and Designing exist in constant dialogue.
Design inspires new observations, observation generates new connections, and recognizing the essence naturally evolves the project. It is a living, adaptable process, far removed from a rigid sequence of phases. This capacity to integrate different disciplines makes the method inherently versatile, ideal for complex contexts: from the luxury sector to healthcare, all the way to institutional communication.

OBSERVING

Seeing the Invisible

OBSERVING

Seeing the Invisible

Every project begins with a fresh perspective.
Observing means exploring the context from every angle, moving beyond preconceived solutions. Beyond data, market research and objectives, we explore the brand’s history, visual culture and psychology.
This principle stems from research developed during the experimental thesis “Seeing the Invisible: Optical Illusion and Applications in Art“, dedicated to visual perception and the mechanisms by which the brain interprets reality.
Within the Spherical Method, observing means learning to see what usually remains invisible: underlying connections, recurring patterns and untapped potential that elude surface-level analysis.

This visual composition represents the "Relating" phase of Elena Lazzara's Spherical Method, in which different disciplines and perspectives are brought into dialogue.

RELATING

The Cognitive Mechanism

RELATING

The Cognitive Mechanism

Deep knowledge arises from relationships. Rather than analyzing information in isolation, the method connects the brand’s personality, market dynamics, user psychology, information architecture, SEO strategy, art direction and technological innovation.
Through this interdisciplinary dialogue, mere observation becomes a systemic and unified understanding — mirroring the way human perception links distinct elements to give them clear meaning: we do not recognize something simply because we see it, but because the brain connects it to an ecosystem of already familiar meanings.

RECOGNIZING

Extracting the Essence

RECOGNIZING

Extracting the Essence

If observation generates knowledge and relating creates structure, recognizing reveals the essence.
Every brand possesses an authentic identity, often buried beneath layers of internal processes or overlapping, contradictory messages that accumulate like visual noise.
The Spherical Method identifies the guiding principle that holds all the parts of the system together.
The goal is not to trivialize complexity by eliminating it, but to understand and harmoniously integrate it.
Recognizing the essence means identifying the focal point from which all subsequent strategic and creative choices derive.

Once the central core has been defined, design makes it visible and effective. Visual identity, digital strategy, UX/UI interfaces, content development and multimedia experiences become expressions of the same spherical principle.
Within the Spherical Method, designing means bringing intrinsic value to light, without adding artificial superstructures. Visual harmony thus emerges as the natural consequence of strategic precision, translating complexity into a clear, balanced and memorable experience.

More than a Method.
A Spherical Vision.

Every project tells the Spherical Method in a unique way, because what changes is the context of application, while the fundamental principles remain constant.
